Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes grew out of a 12-acre cemetery that was founded just north of Sacramento in 1938. It was originally known as Grant Memorial Lawn. In 1959, the name was changed to Sunset Lawn Memorial Park. Today, Sunset Lawn Chapel of the Chimes operates as a full-service facility on 94 acres in northern Sacramento—which is the largest dedicated cemetery area in the Sacramento region.
Burial… The park contains 25 gardens for traditional single-plot burials. Several gardens are dedicated exclusively to clients with ethnic and other affiliations—including three large gardens dedicated exclusively to veterans, a garden for infants and a garden for upright monuments.
Mausoleums… We maintain five outdoor and two indoor mausoleums including the Remembrance Mausoleum—a beautiful new climate-controlled facility featuring vaulted ceilings, stained-glass windows and a variety of marble and granite elements.
Cremation… We offer full cremation services to our client families, including some unique scattering options. If you desire an above-ground location for honoring remains, we provide eight indoor and outdoor columbaria within the park. There also are three urn gardens used for the burial of cremated remains.
Funerals and Memorial Services… Arrangements for funerals and memorial celebrations are handled through our on-site funeral home. We serve a diverse ethnic and cultural community, and take pride in providing a range of traditional and non-traditional services that can accommodate the special needs of our clients.
Please contact a counselor for more information about the options available to you.
