“Skylawn Memorial Park creates a feeling for the visitor that is both dramatic and serene: dramatic because of its sweeping panoramic views, serene because of a beautiful park-like location that is isolated from development and traffic of any kind. There is literally no other cemetery property like it, anywhere in the world.”
Situated at the crest of a coastal mountain range, Skylawn offers beautiful 360-degree vistas that change in color and mood all through the day. The Pacific Ocean and a largely undeveloped vista of coastal San Mateo County are located to the west. To the east you can see the unblemished watershed of Crystal Springs Reservoir, and beyond it, San Francisco Bay.
Skylawn Memorial Park is the Lifemark Group’s newest property. Dedicated in 1957, it encompasses 505 acres surrounded by a wildlife preserve and dedicated open space. Development will never be allowed on surrounding lands.
The property itself is peaceful and park-like, with 85 acres of landscaped gardens. Some are dedicated to veterans and children. Others are designed for clients with organizational affiliations, including Masonic Lodge and Elk Lodge members. Still others are designed to accommodate the diverse cultural traditions of the families we serve. These include separate garden and memorial areas for Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Hispanic and Jewish families.
Our facilities include two beautiful chapels and a columbarium for cremated remains. In early 2006, we are scheduled to open a new funeral home that will allow us to provide the most comprehensive funeral services of any mortuary or cemetery in Northern California.
